Indian TV workers go on strike
November 10, 2008 The Federation of Western India Cine Workers (FWICE) went on strike late Friday, demanding better wages and working conditions from the Association of Motion Picture & TV Program Producers, the group's second such job action in as many months. The strike has halted production of TV shows, which has led major broadcasters to resort to airing reruns of most entertainment shows from Monday. The broadcasters have told AMPTVPP that it is not possible to increase production budgets especially in the present economic environment when advertising revenues are being affected.
