Film Review: Panda Diary

October 06, 2008 "Panda Diary," a cute-as-a-button documentary, panders to people's fondness for furry animals. Director Tadashi Mori was privileged (or resourceful) enough to nuzzle right up to his subjects as he shuttles between a Japanese zoo and a Chinese reserve to show a few things we want to know about pandas. Amusing and accessible even for preschool kids, it should ride on topical interest created by "Kung Fu Panda," which chop-socked its way to worldwide stardom.
