'Acne' tops AFI int'l competition
November 09, 2008 Federico Veiroj's coming-of-age tale "Acne" took home the Grand Jury Prize in the International Feature Competition at AFI Fest 2008. The winners, announced Sunday, also saw the International Documentary Grand Jury Prize go to Kief Davidson's "Kassim the Dream," a portrait of the world champion boxer Kassim Ouma. The audience award for best feature went to Daniel Stamm's "A Necessary Death," which follows a couple of documentary filmmakers who want to film a person contemplating suicide.
